Back to Mouzaki

On Tuesday, Eleftheria had to go back to work :(  Ian and I decided to go back to Mouzaki for three days because it wasn't too far to drive and we knew it would be good.  Unlike the previous Friday and Saturday, the cliff was nearly empty this time.  We were able to camp in the small cabin built right next to the cliff and climbed, most of the time, just the two of us.  It was great!

One afternoon while we were waiting for the wall to go back in the shade we went down to the river to read and wash off in the freezing, snowmelt water.  This tortoise was scratching around nearby eating some flowers.

The main wall at Mouzaki.  The whole area is covered in limestone.

Taking a slow morning in the cabin.

The cabin was literally a stone's throw from the cliff.

Since it was just me and Ian, it was pretty much impossible to take any climbing shots.  So all you get are these lousy wildflowers.

The locals put a ton of work into their cliff and it was obvious they were proud of their area.  This is a name-plate for one of the routes.  They had also terraced and filled in the base with river stones, added a picnic table and, of course, built the cabin that could sleep up to 8 people.  Very impressive!

 The scenery did not disappoint.

Absolutely beautiful! I am no climber, but I want to spend a night in that cabin...no kidding.

The flower photos are an adequate substitute for climbing photos. And (not sarcastically) the photo of Ian looks iconic.

...Yes! Still passing the Turing test.
